Description
Involving people with a lived experience of mental health issues in the development and delivery of tertiary education has been found to increase student understanding, empathy and compassion, as well as challenge stigmatising attitudes and beliefs.
This research aims to explore the difference between student learning and engagement from a lived experience educator and an academic (without lived experience).
General research questions may include:
- What impact does an educator with lived experience delivering education have on students’ learning and engagement in mental health nursing curriculum?
- What are students’ perceptions and experiences of education delivered by an educator with a lived experience?
- How does the learning experience differ from an educator with a lived experience and an academic (without a lived experience) in the delivery and engagement of student learning in tertiary education?
