Description
Nfatc1 is known to be important in regulating how the heart forms in the embryo. Which parts of the genome determine the expression of nfatc1 in the heart?
This project aims to isolate minimal nfatc1 regulatory elements (promoter/enhancers) to drive expression in nfatc1 cells from a simple plasmid vector.
Main techniques: Molecular biology, injecting expression vectors into zebrafish embryos less than 1 hour old, in situ hybridisation, imaging.
