Examining environmental predictors of healthy ageing

This project is based in the National Centre for Healthy Ageing, a partnership between Monash University and Peninsula Health. This project will utilise the leading-edge Healthy Ageing Data Platform (https://www.monash.edu/medicine/national-centre-for-healthy-ageing/data-platform). This platform houses high-quality curated linked data regarding health, aged care, social and environmental factors for people living in an entire well-defined geographic region, covering Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula. For example, electronic health records include de-identified hospital admissions, emergency department presentations and outpatient records. Environmental data include air pollution and greenery. There will be opportunities to examine how neighbourhood-level environmental factors are associated with prevalence and incidence of a variety of diseases and health conditions related to ageing. This opportunity would suit a student with strong quantitative skills.
