Description
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer related deaths worldwide. Whilst we are seeing an increase in the availability of targeted therapies, tumour heterogeneity and immunogenicity impact response and hence patient outcomes. Sophisticated new techniques are now available to interrogate the lung tumour microenvironment at unprecedented resolution. This includes spatial transcriptomics which enables the overlay of transcripome wide data onto tissue images to allow deep understanding of how the tumour interacts with its environment.
We have extensive spatial transcriptomic datasets from mouse models of lung cancer and from human clinical trials. This project will be to interrogate these datasets for transcriptional signatures indicative of response to treatment. You will be working in a team of fundamental and clinical cancer researchers and bioinformaticians providing a breath of training.
