StigmaBeat is an ongoing codesigned research project which has led to the co-creation with 18 rural young people from Gippsland, who have experienced parental mental health challenges, of a series of short films aimed at identifying and reducing intersectional stigma. A 90-minute education and advocacy package featuring the films has also been co-designed and piloted. You can read more about the methodology and the finding here:

In this next phase, we would like to evaluate the impact of the intervention on the understanding and attitudes surrounding stigma, of a cohort of first year medical students. We will trial the intervention via in-person and online modes and use a bespoke survey tool (pre and post) and focus groups to gather data on the impact.
The student's role will be to:
1. Undertake a literature review on the evidence of what is effective in relation to stigma-reducing education interventions
2. Design the evaluation methodology with supervisors and lead the data collection with students and session facilitators
3. Analyse the data and develop findings
4. Write up a report
