Description
Between 2020 and 2023, it is expected that over 130 million electric bikes to be sold worldwide. Growth in urban bicycle use can lead to profound societal changes: reductions in traffic and pollution, and improvements in population and environmental health. The e-bike is transformative as it changes who can ride bikes, such as those needing to travel longer distances, the elderly, etc.
A number of projects are available across the spectrum of e-bikes, including:
- Understanding the barriers and enablers of e-bike use
- Trialling e-bike use
- Understanding equitable access to e-bikes
- e-bike safety
Top-up scholarship funding is available to outstanding candidates.
