Epidemiological factors in Multiple sclerosis

Description 
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative condition affecting the central nervous system. There are over 33,000 people living with MS in Australia. There are a number of established risk factors including Epstein Barr Virus, genetic predisposition, high BMI, low vitamin D status and smoking. Further work is need to better understand their interaction and additional factors that are increasing the prevalence of MS. This project involves analysis various epidemiological factors in MS with a focus on understanding its impact in Australia.
