Students will have a unique opportunity to contribute to and analyse the data from trials and registries including the STAREE trial and ANDA/DCQR projects.
STAREE (STAtins in Reducing events in the Elderly) is a world first randomised controlled trial, conducted by Universities across Australia, studying the effects of statins on healthy ageing.
ANDA (Australian National Diabetes Audit) and the Diabetes Clinical Quality Registry is a national audit/register involving data from over 65 primary, secondary and tertiary health care services. These include centres from all Australian states and territories, and encompass metropolitan, regional and rural services. The ANDA/DCQR provides data to enable benchmarking of key clinical performance indicators in diabetes management throughout Australia.
Working on the projects will help students develop key research and analytical skills as well as important clinical expertise.
