From gene expression to new drug development for autoimmune diseases

Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary research team that is changing the face of autoimmune disease management, making ground-breaking discoveries, creating new drugs and facilitating future clinical trials. For patients with autoimmune diseases, particularly lupus, the options for treatment are unacceptably poor. The substantial clinical need in this disease is well recognised and there is strong appetite for discovering and developing new therapeutic strategies targeting specific molecular pathways. Our team has experience in validating one new strategy and taking it through to commercialisation, and now we are looking for excellent Honours, BMedSci Hons and PhD students to help us with our next therapeutic strategy. This project will build your experience in lab-based discovery research, clinical data analysis, translational research and commercialisation of findings. Bring your enthusiasm for a brighter future for patients with autoimmune disease and a willingness to learn, and you will be rewarded with an opportunity to build an outstanding foundation for a research career.
