Healthy lifestyle intervention in women of reproductive age

Description
Increasing proportions of women are entering pregnancy overweight (>30%) or obese (20%). Simple lifestyle interventions can prevent weight gain and related complications whilst improving modifiable lifestyle behaviours for improved maternal and infant health. Here, the candidate will adapt and diversify a lifestyle intervention to optimise healthy weight and modifiable lifestyle behaviours across pregnancy and postpartum. Outcomes will include health literacy, adherence to international gestational weight gain recommendations in pregnancy, pregnancy complications (GDM, caesarean rates and neonatal admissions) and postpartum weight retention. Data linkage to pre-existing databases to enhance interpretation of results will also be performed.
