Identifying factors related to low stroke recognition in emergency calls.

Description
Calls to ambulance for stroke represent approximately 3% of emergency calls. Current versions of emergency calling taking protocol include a Stroke Diagnostic Tool, which contains assessments for face, arm and speech impairments. However, when linked to hospital records only ~30% of these calls are actually stroke or transient ischaemic attacks. Further understanding of the use of the Stroke Diagnostic Tool in emergency calls is needed. This project will include extracting and listening to consecutive emergency calls for stroke to examine use of the Stroke Diagnostic Tool.
