Description
Here we will combine omics technologies with novel muscle-specific gene manipulation technologies to discover novel signalling pathways controlling skeletal muscle hypertrophy and atrophy. This work will have implications on diseases such as diabetes, cancer and other disorders that cause muscle wasting like kidney disease and emphysema as well as weight loss therapies that involve nutrient restriction.
