Description
There have been rapid rises in the number of shift workers in Australia, with 1/5 of all workers now classified within this category. Previous research has identified that shift workers report poorer sleep and health behaviours compared with traditional day workers, with many resorting to alcohol or other drugs to help them sleep post-shift, or using drugs to help keep them awake during work. This project will assess the interplay between shift types, work hours and drug use by shift workers and examine the impact of use of drugs on performance and productivity measures.
